Over 4,000 scholars across four states completed BELL Summer 2008, making remarkable improvements in their reading and math skills while completing community service, learning foreign languages, studying art, dance, history and more. On average, BELL After School scholars gained 10 months' of grade-equivalent academic skills in the 2007-2008 after school program, and 100% of scholars entering at a "failing" level in reading advanced to a higher performance level by the end of the program, for the 7th consecutive year.
